Re: The Wrestling Game Down?
A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) or distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) is an attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users. Although the means to carry out, motives for, and targets of a DoS attack may vary, it generally consists of the concerted efforts of a person or people to prevent an Internet site or service from functioning efficiently or at all, temporarily or indefinitely. Perpetrators of DoS attacks typically target sites or services hosted on high-profile web servers such as banks, credit card payment gateways, and even root nameservers. The term is generally used with regards to computer networks, but is not limited to this field, for example, it is also used in reference to CPU resource management.
One common method of attack involves saturating the target (victim) machine with external communications requests, such that it cannot respond to legitimate traffic, or responds so slowly as to be rendered effectively unavailable. In general terms, DoS attacks are implemented by either forcing the targeted computer(s) to reset, or consuming its resources so that it can no longer provide its intended service or obstructing the communication media between the intended users and the victim so that they can no longer communicate adequately.
Denial-of-service attacks are considered violations of the IAB's Internet proper use policy, and also violate the acceptable use policies of virtually all Internet service providers. They also commonly constitute violations of the laws of individual nations.

Re: The Wrestling Game Down?
Well I hope it gets cleared up soon. I already spent 15 hours on my first show of the season, and had it deleted because of a server problem... so if I lose the nearly 25 hours I spent on my PPV I'm not sure I'll have the drive to continue next season.
I have my fingers crossed though

Hm interesting DDoS, I had thought the servers were running slow at certain times over the past few days. Wonder what lame little no life punk is behind them.
Re: The Wrestling Game Down?
Been down since around 11pm GMT (give or take an hour or so thanks to losing track of time) yesterday so its been out for a while as far as I know

Re: The Wrestling Game Down?
They get 10.000 euro per month for donations and the server is not more then 100 euro a month and it is very hard to keep this site online

Re: The Wrestling Game Down?
They really get that sort of money each money?
Surprising considering how many TP's they give away for free now.

Re: The Wrestling Game Down?
I wish I could donate, but I'm kinda tight on cash lately myself. :\
Anyway, I hope it gets fixed soon, my Resistance (which is level 69, soon to be 70) will be increasing finally today! I've waited for it about a month.

Yeah, supposedly according to the Italian their subscription for the domain has ended. Doesn't seem correct as I have US members able to access it and its not as if its just people in the EU as another person in my fed lives in the UK (like me) and can access the site at this very moment.

I'm from the US and I can't access the game. Though one or two people from my fed said they can get on the game.

Re: The Wrestling Game Down?
I can't access TWG either. I can only get s1 through the IP address, no access to s2 or s3 at all.

That comes up whenever I try to get onto it. However, I've been told by Abdel that it's a change in DNS settings and it'll be a while for people that can't access the game.
